When a then five-year-old boy from Massachusetts namedDannyNickerson, who can no longer attend school because he’s SO sick, decided that all he wanted for his 6th birthday were cards from strangers, the story quickly went viral and the hashtag #CardsForDanny went worldwide on social media. Justin KNEW he had to act — and he did in a big way.

Danny’s 6th birthday was July 25. While most kids wish for toys on their special day, Danny, who suffers from a rare and inoperable brain tumor, just wanted to know that people around the world were thinking about him. Justin made SURE Danny felt special on his birthday!
The singer Instagrammeda photo of Danny with the words, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANNY! MUCH LOVE, JUSTIN BIEBER,” on top of the photo — just like a card. He captioned the post with: “#happybirthdaydanny stay strong”
The post was a very sweet, very kind and very classy move of Justin.
Danny’s mom,Carley Nickerson, has revealed why Danny wished for cards specifically. “He can recognize his name now. When he saw his name on the package from magical fairies on Easter, he was so happy,” she told ABC News. Danny had to drop out of kindergarten after being diagnosed in October 2013 — so life can get lonely for the now six-year-old little guy.
